Saint Francis Health System

Volunteers

When Saint Francis opened its doors on October 1, 1960, volunteers were already an indispensable part of patient care.

Today volunteers work in over 40 areas of the hospital, directly and indirectly enhancing patient care. The group donates an average of 95,000 hours each year with their monetary contribution topping the $5 million mark. No matter what your skills and expertise, the Auxiliary can use your caring, understanding and generosity.

Working throughout the hospital, the Auxiliary adds to the comfort and cheer of the sick, their families and visitors. Volunteers give information, handle mail, deliver flowers, staff the Gift Shop and assist in admitting and dismissing patients.

Volunteer assignments include recovery room, perioperative clinic, family waiting rooms, the Natalie Warren Bryant Cancer Center, the Trauma Emergency Center, the Eastern Oklahoma Perinatal Center, Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital and many other areas. Volunteers provide community service through a variety of different outlets. In addition, they conduct hospital tours for adults and children.

Volunteers also raise monies through various projects. Since 1960, funds raised by volunteers have purchased high-tech medical equipment and other important additions to patient care and comfort.
